The Indiana University of Pennsylvania-Main Campus (IUP) provides students with an advanced Master's Degree Program in Psychology that leads graduates through a rigorous course load of research-oriented learning. Successful candidates will be motivated by faculty to pursue further education through a doctoral-level psychology degree. Although a professional career is possible with a terminal MA degree, jobs are limited to fields like research services or teaching at a community college level. Students seeking to obtain a higher level of study open doors for themselves to gain licensing as a counselor or therapist, teach at a university level, and gain the ability to become principle writers in research grants and work without as much supervision.
